We are a fast-paced café, located inside Mitre 10 Mega Dunedin in Anderson’s Bay Our mission is to be a community-leading, premium franchised café experience, with a clear focus on outstanding service and local execution, freshness, and continual innovation of offering. Cafe ChefYou will contribute to the successful running of the kitchen - in a busy cafe environment.You will be given a full induction and training but will need to be confident and experienced to work unsupervised. As the ideal candidate for this role you will:
  • Be a team player with good communication skills, who can receive feedback and take it on board .
  • Be a professional who strives to maintain high standards and who takes real pride in the quality of the food served.
  • Be confident with stock control systems, costing food products and food compliance.
  • Ideally have at least 12 months experience as a chef working in a busy Cafe kitchen with great experience in cooking short order brunch meals and baking skills to help with preparing savoury and sweet food cabinet items.
  • Be able to work on a 7 day roster which will included weekdays, weekends and public holidays as required.

* Some Responsibilities include:
  • Keeps calm and manages stressful situations effectively
  • Communicate effectively with colleagues and customers
  • Prepare and cook meals as per Columbus Coffee Standards
  • Establish and maintain standard recipes of all menu items.
  • Supervise and maintain quality control for outgoing meals and incoming produce according to specification.
  • Monitor productivity of the Kitchen
  • Stock control and rotation
  • Ensure daily monitoring and control of all food purchasing, purchasing specifications and food stock control.
  • Manages and directs kitchen staff
