Position: Communications and Engagement Lead (Public Health)
Overview Communications and Engagement Lead (Public Health) – Liverpool City Council. We are looking for a talented and passionate communications and engagement professional to lead strategic communications and engagement activities that support our public health department. The Public Health Communications and Engagement Lead will be a key part of the Communications Team and will support the delivery of public health priorities through strategic communications and
inclusive engagement. The role is focused on improving health outcomes and reducing inequalities by ensuring public health messages are accessible, evidence-based, and resonate with Liverpool’s
diverse communities.
The ideal candidate will have experience in stakeholder engagement, campaign delivery, and media relations, with a strong understanding of public health and behaviour change principles. You will work across a variety of
communication channels and collaborate with partners across Liverpool, such as the NHS, Voluntary, Community and Faith (VCF) organisations, businesses, and other public sector partners to align messaging and maximise reach.Responsibilities
- Lead strategic communications and engagement activities that support the public health department.
- Coordinate and deliver campaigns that improve health outcomes and reduce inequalities.
- Engage with stakeholders across NHS, VCF organisations, businesses, and public sector partners to align messaging and maximise reach.
- Ensure messages are accessible, evidence-based, and resonate with diverse communities.
- Collaborate with the Communications Team to support delivery of public health priorities.
Qualifications and experience
- Experience in stakeholder engagement, campaign delivery, and media relations.
- Strong understanding of public health and behaviour change principles.
