Fixed Income ETF Trader – Sydney Shape and Lead a New Desk at a Top-Tier Proprietary Trading Firm Total Comp: 2.5 million to 3.5 million (AUD)
A top proprietary trading firm is expanding its global ETF capabilities and is looking for an experienced Fixed Income ETF Trader to launch and grow a new desk out of Sydney. This is a rare opportunity to take ownership of a greenfield initiative within a high-performing, collaborative environment.
Your Role:

• Establish and lead a Fixed Income ETF trading desk, leveraging the firm’s successful equities ETF business.
• Price, trade, and manage risk in Fixed Income ETFs across the APAC region, including both electronic and OTC markets.
• Partner closely with quant researchers, engineers, and fellow traders to develop and execute high-conviction strategies.

What You Bring:

• Minimum 3 years of trading experience in ETFs or Fixed Income products within APAC markets; familiarity with Chinese Fixed Income is a strong plus.
• Solid grasp of bond market structure and ETF mechanics, including primary market interactions.
• Hands-on expertise in valuation, basket construction, sourcing liquidity, and managing creations/redemptions.
• Strong coding skills in Python for analytics; experience with SQL or C++ is beneficial.
• Clear communicator who thrives in collaborative, fast-paced settings.
