Job Description:
About us UK Planet Tools is one of the UK’s largest independent suppliers of tools and equipment. We’re a dynamic, fast-growing business with a strong online presence across our own e-commerce site and major marketplaces, including Amazon, eBay and B&Q. We’re expanding our team with a dedicated E-commerce Specialist to accelerate the growth of our private-label product range. Purpose of the role The E-commerce Specialist will own the end-to-end management of our private-label products across all online channels. Your goals are to drive sales, grow brand visibility and optimise the customer journey. You’ll combine commercial instinct with rigorous analysis—planning and executing research using platform data, customer feedback and (where appropriate) focus groups—to inform positioning, pricing and promotion. Key responsibilities Product management & optimisation · Lead day-to-day development, support and UX of our e-commerce presence. · Create, manage and continuously optimise listings for private-label products across our website, Amazon, eBay and B&Q. · Conduct keyword research and implement SEO best practices to improve discoverability and rankings. · Produce accurate, compelling, keyword-rich copy (titles, bullet points, product descriptions, A+ / enhanced content). · Ensure imagery and content are high-quality, on-brand and up to date. · Identify and deliver improvements to the productivity and efficiency of the web delivery team. Sales & performance analysis · Develop strategic sales plans each period (quarter/year): set targets, plan launches and define promotional calendars. · Monitor and analyse sales, conversion, traffic and basket metrics across channels; translate findings into clear actions. · Produce end-of-period performance reports against targets, evaluating campaign effectiveness and ROI with recommendations. · Track competitors on pricing, promotions and assortment; propose responses grounded in data. Marketing & promotions · Plan and execute campaigns (promotions, deals and paid media such as Amazon Ads and Google Ads). · Manage weekly promotional activity and maintain a forward calendar aligned to launches and seasonal events. · Report on campaign performance and proactively suggest tests to increase conversion and AOV. · Partner with marketing to ensure a cohesive strategy across all digital touchpoints. · Oversee day-to-day management of marketing and website budgets. · Review website performance regularly via Google Analytics (GA4) to identify issues, opportunities and tests. Platform & account management · Use analytics, marketplace dashboards and brand tools to spot growth opportunities and resolve friction. · Act as the main point of contact for private-label matters on Amazon, eBay and B&Q; maintain account health and compliance. · Troubleshoot and resolve listing errors, policy flags and customer queries promptly. · Stay current with platform algorithms, policies and best practices. Inventory & operations · Work closely with the Imports/Operations teams to align stock availability with demand and promotional plans. · Support demand forecasting to minimise stock-outs and overstock. Skills & experience · 2–3+ years’ experience in an e-commerce role, ideally with private-label or branded product ownership. · Hands-on experience with Amazon Seller Central, eBay and other marketplaces; knowledge of Magento (or similar CMS). · Solid grasp of SEO, PPC, CRO/testing and data analytics; comfortable turning data into decisions. · Proficient with analytics and marketplace tools (e.g., GA4, Amazon Brand Analytics). · Clear, compelling written and verbal communication; meticulous attention to detail. · Proactive, highly organised self-starter; equally effective working independently and with cross-functional teams. · Strong commercial acumen and ownership mindset. Company benefits · Competitive salary, dependent on experience. · Friendly, supportive team environment with real scope for growth. · 30 days’ annual leave per year, plus an additional day for length of service and your birthday. · Contractual Sick Pay Scheme and Pension Scheme. · Free on-site parking, employee discounts, and regular social activities/events.
