Job Summary A new and exciting opportunity has arisen for a skilled and knowledgeable Locum Consultant Urological Surgeon (10 PA) to contribute to the elective recovery of the Urology service within North Bristol NHS Trust, delivered at Weston General Hospital and Southmead Hospital. Candidates with subspecialty interest(s) complementing the needs of the department are encouraged to apply. The duration of this post will be 6 months, extending to 12 months if required.About the DepartmentBased at Southmead Hospital and Weston General Hospital, the BUI is a tertiary referral centre and is the largest Urology department in the South West and one of the largest in the country, offering care for all urological conditions. The department is well supported by oncologists from the Bristol Haematology and Oncology centre and by a group of experienced and dedicated Cancer Nurse Specialists and Specialist Nurse Practitioners.

- Qualifications and Registration
- FRCS (or equivalent).
- Maintain Full registration with the GMC.
- Must have CCT in Urology and be entered on the GMC Specialist Register at the time of the appointment.
- Specialist registrars not holding a CCT must be due to be awarded one within 6 months of the interview date.
- Desirable Qualifications
- Higher academic qualification (e.g., MD or MS).
- Training and Experience
- Recent experience and familiarity with UK hospital systems and practices.
- Minimum of 5 years postgraduate experience, including higher surgical/medical training, three years as a Senior Registrar, or equivalent.
- Training in diagnosis and treatment of General urology, LUTS management, and superficial bladder cancer.
