OverviewWe are seeking a Special Educational Needs Coordinator who will lead the planning, coordination, and delivery of specialist support for learners with Special Educational Needs and Disabilities. Working within Bridgeway Learning Limited’s online and school-partner framework, the SENCO will oversee SEND provision, ensuring inclusive and high-quality learning experiences. The role involves collaborating with tutors, families, partner schools, and external agencies to implement tailored support strategies, while also contributing to the strategic development of Bridgeway’s SEND services, including online learning, inclusion initiatives, and specialist staff placements.
Responsibilities- Provide one-on-one support to children with autism and other disabilities during educational activities.
- Develop, implement and monitor the SEN/SEND policy and provision for Bridgeway Learning’s online and partner-school contexts, ensuring alignment with statutory guidance
- Oversee and monitor the quality of SEND tutoring/consultancy services: review outcomes, conduct learning-walks or online session audits, drive improvements in student achievement for SEND learners.
- Assist in the implementation of Individual Education Plans (IEPs) tailored to each child's needs.
- Foster a nurturing and supportive environment that encourages learning and development.
- Engage with children through teaching techniques that promote social skills, communication, and independence.
- Collaborate with educators, therapists, and families to ensure comprehensive support for each child.
- Maintain accurate records of progress and communicate effectively with parents and guardians regarding their child's development.
- Participate in training sessions to enhance skills related to special education and working with diverse needs.
Qualifications- Experience working with people with autism or other disabilities is highly desirable.
- Background in teaching or special education is preferred.
- Previous experience with children, particularly in a care or educational setting, is essential.
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with children, families, and colleagues.
- Knowledge of toddler care principles is advantageous.
