Technical Demonstrator: Ceramics Vacancy Ref 51610 Location Swansea Salary £31,236 - £34,610 per annum Closing Date Thursday, October 16, 2025 - THE ROLE - This post is primarily concerned with the planning, development and safe delivery of technical workshops within the ceramics studio. The post holder will be required to demonstrate a range of equipment and techniques within this field. This position will require you to work with other programs delivered across the art and design portfolio and within other workshop areas when cover is required. The post holder would supervise and provide assistance to students as necessary when undertaking their individual or set project work. In addition to the role of Technical Demonstrator you would also oversee and maintain the equipment and monitor, maintain and provide stock control to the workshops and stores. The post holder will work closely with colleagues to ensure appropriate support is provided to students at all levels. The post holder will set up equipment and maintain the workshops in a clean, tidy, safe and secure manner. They will be expected to have a broad knowledge of techniques, materials and equipment used within a ceramics studio. Also, a part of the roll requires the loading and programming of the ceramics kilns. The post holder would be expected to support the Principal Technical Demonstrators and others in arranging University events and exhibitions both on or off-campus. The post holder would be expected to engage in research activities associated with their technical workshop practice, or other related activities in order to maintain the currency of the students learning experience. The post holder must have a professional attitude, with a high degree of enthusiasm and a willingness to deliver student centred learning provision.
