About this role We are seeking a passionate and forward-thinking Senior Lecturer in Engineering Management and Sustainability to join our School of Engineering at UWE Bristol. In this role, you will contribute and support the development of Teaching & Learning, impactful Research, and industry collaboration within the dynamic fields of engineering management and sustainability. You will work alongside a supportive team in a purpose-built engineering building with state-of-the-art facilities. The successful candidate will be responsible for designing and delivering high-quality lectures, seminars, and tutorials in engineering management, strategic analysis for technical operations, logistics and supply chain management and sustainable engineering practice, develop and update learning materials to reflect current industry trends and advancements. You will be joining a growing and ambitious team that values the integration of research and practice-led materials within teaching and learning very highly. There would be opportunities to contribute to the development and delivery of innovative curriculum that integrates engineering management principles with sustainable technologies to foster student engagement and employability. We also value candidates who not only possess a strong academic background but also have practical experience in relevant industries in the net-zero transition technologies and digital transformation that can help develop students across our engineering programmes (Aerospace, Civil, Mechanical, Electrical, Automotive, Robotics, and Mechatronics Engineering). Furthermore, teaching responsibilities span across undergraduate, postgraduate, and doctoral levels, and include supervision of UG, PG projects and group projects, within the School of Engineering, with potential contributions to Continued Professional Development (CPD) courses. About you You would have a broad set of skills in delivering high quality teaching and research across Engineering Management and integration of sustainability principles (e.g., circular economy, ESG) into engineering solutions. Strong leadership in programme development, interdisciplinary research, and a commitment to advancing sustainable engineering practices. You would have teaching and research experience in the areas of Engineering Management, Sustainable Project Management, Life Cycle Assessment (LCA), Operation management; Infrastructures for the Climate Emergency; Sustainable Engineering; Infrastructure Resilience and Sustainable Design; Sustainable Supply Chain Management, Energy Management and Renewable Technologies. In addition to a good portfolio of research that relates to the University’s Transforming Futures Research Strategy 2020-2030. With the ability to influence cutting edge practice and contribute to the Research Excellence Framework (REF). You would hold or be near to the completion of a PhD in Engineering Management, or a related discipline. We welcome applicants from a professional practice or industry background with a qualification equivalent to postgraduate level in a relevant discipline together with professional experience within the Engineering Management sector. A teaching qualification and chartership with the Chartered Management Institute or other relevant professional bodies is highly desirable. You would have experience working in or collaborating with relevant industry or other HE institutions.
