Executive Director of Student Services and UCL Registrar to provide strategic, regulatory and operational leadership across the student lifecycle and to shape the next phase of UCL's student experience. Student and Registry Services (SRS) is one of UCL's largest professional services divisions, responsible for the end-to-end student journey - from access and admissions through to progression, awards and transition beyond UCL. Following a period focused on growth, risk management and stabilisation, the next phase is
transformational. This role offers the opportunity to:

- Embed data, insight and digital capability into decision-making
- Translate regulation and policy into fair, inclusive and compassionate student experience
- Ensure UCL consistently meets its academic, regulatory and contractual obligations
This is a
Registrar-plus role, combining statutory and regulatory authority with leadership of large-scale services, systems, data and institutional change.About the roleReporting to the Vice-President (Operations) and working closely with the Vice-President (Education & Student Experience), you will provide institutional leadership across:
- Student wellbeing, mental health, disability and inclusion
- Student operations, assessment, progression and awards
- Student data, records, analytics and data quality
- Academic policy, quality assurance and regulatory compliance
- Immigration advice and sponsor compliance
- Student conduct, casework, appeals and complaints
- Access, participation, scholarships and student funding
You will act as UCL's senior authority on student-related regulation and risk, while leading major service and systems transformation to ensure services are inclusive, efficient, resilient and insight-driven.About you
- Experience as a Registrar or Deputy Registrar in a large, complex institution
- Deep expertise in student lifecycle delivery, regulation and assurance
- A strong track record of organisational transformation, including service redesign and systems change
- Confidence operating in complex, high-profile and politically nuanced academic environments
- A commitment to inclusive, values-led leadership and staff wellbeing
- The ability to use data, analytics and emerging technologies (including AI) to improve outcomes and efficiency
