Job Description
The Commonwealth of PA is seeking an experienced Application Developer 3 to support enterprise-level development projects within the F&B group. This role involves both new application development and ongoing maintenance of existing systems. The developer will participate in full lifecycle development—requirements gathering, design, coding, testing, implementation, and production support.
Responsibilities
- Develop, test, and deploy application solutions in alignment with project requirements.
- Analyze business needs and translate them into technical specifications and designs.
- Perform application enhancements, bug fixes, and performance optimization.
- Conduct code reviews and ensure adherence to development standards and best practices.
- Collaborate with project managers, business analysts, and technical teams.
- Provide production support, troubleshooting, and issue resolution.
- Create and maintain documentation for technical designs, processes, and workflows.
- Ensure compliance with agency security, accessibility, and coding standards.
Qualifications:
- Experience as an application developer in a structured environment.
- Strong background in full SDLC (Software Development Life Cycle).
- Proficiency in application development tools, frameworks, and languages (specific stack to be provided by client).
- Familiarity with relational databases, SQL, and integration with backend systems.
- Knowledge of version control, testing frameworks, and deployment tools.
- Ability to work both independently and in a collaborative team environment.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Effective communication skills for working with both technical and non-technical staff.
