Job Description:
- Perform precision haircuts with scissors, clippers, and razors for men’s and women’s styles (including fades and line-ups).
- Consult clients on hair care, suitable hairstyles, and recommended beauty products.
- Shampoo and condition hair; apply scalp treatments as needed.
- Colour, bleach, tone, foil/balayage, and apply chemical services (perming/straightening) safely.
- Style hair by blow-drying, curling/straightening, up-dos, and finishing for events.
- Design and maintain braids and dreadlocks, and apply/retouch hair extensions.
- Shave and trim beards and moustaches; provide hot-towel and razor services.
- Offer after-care advice and recommend retail products to support results.
- Schedule bookings, manage the calendar, process payments, and operate the POS.
- Clean and sanitise tools, chairs, and work areas; keep treatment zones tidy.
- Maintain hygiene and health & safety standards in line with NZ regulations.
- Monitor and replenish salon inventory for colours, treatments, and retail items; escalate restock needs.
- Record client formulas, service history, and preferences for repeat visits.
- Train or guide junior staff/apprentices on salon standards and hygiene.
Job Type: Full-timePay: $26.00 – $31.00 per hourExpected hours: 30 – 40 per weekBenefits:
