Job Description:

Vegetation Control Operator – Lower South Island Treescape perform vegetation control throughout the KiwiRail railway corridor across New Zealand, we are looking for a Vegetation Control Operator to join our Dunedin based team covering the lower South Island region. The successful candidate will perform a varied role from taking rail protection and supervising sub-contractors through to hands on activities operating machinery, herbicide application and grounds maintenance tasks. If you have a high regard for safety, a can-do attitude and a willingness to learn new skills we can provide the training required to be successful in the role. What you’ll do: • Provide rail protection for work crews • Supervise vegetation contractors • Operate vehicles and equipment • Herbicide application and grounds maintenance • Report safety and operational issues What we’re looking for: • Safety-focused and physically fit • Great communicator and team player • Willing to travel and stay away for work • Holds relevant KiwiRail licenses is beneficial but not essential (RPO Blocking, Track Warrant, PRO Yards, Hi-Rail) • Class 2/RTWD license and First Aid Certificate are a plus What we offer: • Full uniform, boots, and gear provided • Competitive pay and full-time hours (Mon–Fri, 7am–5pm) • Training and support from experienced colleagues • Modern equipment and vehicles Ready to apply?
