We focus on creating healthy ecosystems through sustainable gardening practices, irrigation efficiency, wildlife-friendly gardens, ponds, soil improvement, mulching, and thoughtful plant selection.We have built a strong reputation within the Port Douglas and Mossman communities and are looking for the right person to help take the business to the next level.About the RoleThis is not a standard gardening position.We are seeking a reliable, motivated, and long-term team member who is interested in becoming a key part of the business and eventually assisting with, or managing, day-to-day operations.Initially, the role will involve a combination of hands-on gardening, irrigation work, pond maintenance, customer service, and team leadership. Over time, the successful candidate may have opportunities to take on greater management responsibilities, profit-sharing arrangements, and long-term career progression within the company.Key Responsibilities
  • Leading and supervising gardening and irrigation teams Planning and coordinating daily work schedules Communicating with clients professionally and respectfully Conducting site visits and assisting with quotations Garden maintenance, pruning, mulching, planting and weed management Irrigation installation, repairs and troubleshooting Pond cleaning, pond maintenance and aquatic plant care Monitoring staff performance and maintaining work standards Identifying opportunities to improve systems and efficiency Managing equipment and ensuring workplace safety procedures are followed Representing the company professionally at all times Assisting with business growth and development

What We Are Looking ForThe ideal candidate will be someone who is dependable, organised, practical, and capable of working independently while also leading others.Essential Requirements
  • Current Australian Driver Licence Physically fit and capable of outdoor work in tropical conditions Strong communication and customer service skills Reliable, punctual and trustworthy Ability to work independently and make decisions Ability to lead by example and motivate others Professional presentation and attitude Commitment to workplace safety Willingness to learn and grow within the business

Highly Regarded
  • Gardening, horticulture or landscaping experience Irrigation installation and maintenance experience Pond or aquatic plant knowledge Previous supervisory or management experience Small business experience Machinery operation experience Ability to tow trailers Experience preparing quotations or managing projects
