Senior Accountant

Our client is an ASX listed financial services business operating in the lending space, based in Sydney CBD. They're looking for a Senior Accountant to join their finance team on a permanent basis.
THE ROLE

• You'll take ownership of month-end close, including preparation of journals, reconciliations and variance analysis across the group.
• You'll prepare statutory financial statements and support the year-end audit process, working closely with external auditors.
• You'll assist with technical accounting papers and ensure compliance with AASB standards, particularly around revenue recognition and financial instruments given the lending environment.
• You'll contribute to the preparation of board reporting packs and other ASX continuous disclosure requirements.
• You'll work closely with FP&A and treasury teams to support cash flow forecasting and reporting.
• You'll help drive process improvement initiatives across the finance function, including systems and automation projects.
• You'll mentor and support junior members of the finance team as the group continues to grow.

WHAT YOU'LL NEED

• You'll be CA or CPA qualified (or working towards equivalent overseas qualification).
• You'll have solid experience in a similar financial or statutory accounting role, ideally gained within financial services, lending, or a funds management environment.
• You'll have strong technical accounting knowledge and be comfortable working with AASB standards.
• You'll be a confident communicator who can work across multiple stakeholders, from finance to the broader business.
• You'll have strong Excel skills and be comfortable working with large data sets.
