About the Service Our home is a 4-bedded residential service which provides a medium to long term placement for children and young people aged 8-18 with a range of complex needs. As a Team Leader, you'll be an integral part of our small, friendly team to provide support to children and young people within the home and accessing the local community. You'll be a key role model to the young people we support, whilst helping them to develop emotionally, socially, behaviourally and independently. In this pivotal role, you will lead and support a team of Residential Support Workers, enhancing the lives of children and young people with complex needs who require your leadership and expertise. Contract / Hours: Permanent – 37.5 hours per week. Week 1 – Mon, Tues, Sat, Sun. Week 2 – Weds, Thurs, Fri (and repeat Week 1). Every other weekend off. Responsibilities
  • Lead and supervise a team of dedicated Residential Support Workers, fostering a positive and collaborative approach to supporting children and young people.
  • Provide high-quality, person-centred care to our children and young people with complex needs.
  • Assist in creating, implementing and maintaining of personalised care plans to meet individual needs and goals.
  • Encourage independence and develop life skills within the Children and Young People.
  • Promote a safe and stimulating environment, ensuring the emotional and physical well-being of all our children and young people.
  • Liaise with family, guardians and external professionals to ensure effective communication and continuity of care.
  • Support the management team in administrative tasks and staff training. Be part of an on-call rota for the home (additional payment for this).
  • You will be required to attend regular training, team meetings and take part in supervisions.

How you will help our Young People:
  • Managing and leading a team of residential professionals working alongside them in the delivery of a 24-hour rota.
  • Building and maintaining positive relationships by providing emotional and social support to children and young people, who can display behaviours that challenge as well as a range of emotional and social difficulties.
  • Taking the lead with care planning management for children and young people.
  • Carrying out regular reviews of young people's paperwork and package of support, in conjunction with the children, young people, their families and professionals from their wider support network.
  • Supervising, guiding, inducting and training the staff team to work in caring, compassionate & professional manner.
  • Attending professional meetings including reviews, safeguarding meetings, Care Planning meetings, education meetings etc.
  • A full driving licence is required for transporting young people as needed.
  • Deputising in the managers absence, liaising with stakeholders and a range of other professionals and by taking the lead in specific areas of the service such as compliance, health and safety and service monitoring.

What are we looking for from you:
  • A minimum of Level 3 Diploma in Children and Young or equivalent qualification.
  • Previous experience in a supervisory / management role.
  • Experience in managing and prioritising work tasks and a commitment to going above and beyond to support the young people in our care.
  • Experience of working with children and young people with complex needs.
  • Sound knowledge and understanding of safeguarding and other legislation relating to children and young people.
  • Knowledge and understanding of how maintain own emotional resilience.
