This role is ideal for a qualified offshore candidate with strong expertise in African hair braiding, protective hairstyles, hair extensions, wig installation, and culturally diverse hair care services.The successful candidate will deliver high-quality hair braiding and styling services while maintaining exceptional customer service standards and contributing positively to the salon environment.Key Responsibilities
- Perform a wide range of professional hair braiding services including:
- Box braids
- Cornrows
- Knotless braids
- Senegalese twists
- Faux locs
- Stitch braids
- Protective hairstyles
- Install wigs, weaves, hair extensions, and lace systems
- Provide scalp care and hair maintenance advice to clients
- Consult with clients regarding hairstyles, treatments, and hair care routines
- Maintain cleanliness and hygiene of salon workstations and equipment
- Ensure all services comply with Australian workplace health and safety standards
- Build and maintain positive client relationships
- Assist with salon promotions and customer engagement
- Work collaboratively within a multicultural team environment
- Maintain stock and assist with ordering hair products and materials when required
Essential Requirements
- Formal qualification in Hairdressing, Hair Braiding, Barbering, Beauty Therapy, or related field OR equivalent industry experience
- Minimum 2–3 years’ full-time experience in professional hair braiding/styling
- Demonstrated experience with African and multicultural hair textures
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Ability to work in a fast-paced salon environment
- Understanding of hygiene and infection control standards
- Ability to work flexible hours including weekends if required
Desirable Skills
- Experience in wig making and lace installation
- Hair colouring or barbering skills
- Social media marketing/content creation experience
- Retail sales experience within beauty or hair industry
