Senior Mechanical Engineer

Job Description We are seeking a skilled and driven Senior Mechanical Engineer to join our maintenance team. This role is strongly focused on plant maintenance, troubleshooting, and reliability improvement, making it ideal for engineers who enjoy a balance of on-site hands-on work and technical problem-solving, while addressing real operational challenges on the ground. What You Will Do

• Lead maintenance, troubleshooting, and root cause analysis for mechanical and process-related issues
• Carry out preventive and corrective maintenance, including continuous improvement initiatives
• Ensure optimal performance and reliability of equipment including boilers, air compressors, valves, piping systems, conveyor belts, pumps and others
• Provide technical leadership and guidance to technicians and operators
• Ensure inspection checklists are properly executed and maintained. Prepare and submit maintenance reports and documentation in a timely manner
• Coordinate and manage vendors and contractors for maintenance, repair, and project activities
• Ensure all maintenance work is carried out in compliance with safety standards and regulations
• Develop, review, and implement Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) for maintenance activities
• Interpret and work with mechanical drawings and P&IDs for maintenance, modification, and troubleshooting
• Perform hands-on maintenance and repair work when required
• Manage and optimize maintenance activities using CMMS systems
• Support servicing and repairing of heavy machinery such as forklifts, wheel loaders, boom lifts, and excavators
• Perform other related duties as assigned

What We Are Looking For

• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in plant maintenance (Mechanical background)
• Strong technical knowledge of rotating and static equipment such as boilers, compressors, valves, piping systems, conveyor belts, pumps and others.
• Experience in maintenance and troubleshooting, including heavy machinery (e.g., forklift, wheel loader, boom lift, excavator)
• Familiarity with lubrication and painting practices and maintenance of static and rotating equipment
• Proven ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team, with strong ownership of maintenance activities
• Experience in leading or guiding technicians in maintenance work
• Strong troubleshooting mindset with practical, solution-oriented thinking
• Proficient in reading mechanical drawings and P&IDs
• Knowledge of Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) is an advantage
• The work location is inside Jurong Island. Free company shuttle bus available in Jurong Point (Boon Lay MRT Station).
