About the Role:
Flinders University's College of Science and Engineering is seeking a distinguished academic to provide leadership in software engineering and cloud computing. This role offers the opportunity to drive world-class research, secure competitive external grants, supervise research students, deliver outstanding teaching, and mentor colleagues. You will also build strategic collaborations across the University, industry, and international partners to strengthen the College's research and teaching impact.

As a Professor in Software Engineering, you will also:
  • Gain significant external competitive research grants and contributing to growth in Flinders' research income.
  • Mentor junior academic colleagues in the College, especially academic staff in computing including co-publishing, co-supervision and co-submission of external competitive grants.
  • Provide administrative leadership as required in relation to the Computing and Mathematics teaching program and associated research section.

This position is open to national and international candidates, and relocation and visa support is available.


About You:
You are a distinguished academic with a strong international reputation in software engineering and/or cloud computing, with demonstrated excellence in research, teaching, and leadership.

You will also demonstrate:
  • Completion of a PhD, or equivalent qualification in an area of computing relevant to software engineering and/or cloud computing.
  • A distinguished track record of research and competitive external grant success, with supervision of honours and doctoral students.
  • Outstanding teaching and educational leadership, including curriculum development, innovative delivery, and mentoring of colleagues.
