Engineering Support Specialist

Responsibilities The responsibilities of a successful Technical Support Representative shall include (but are not limited to):

• Applies technical expertise to quickly resolve both simple and complex problems.
• Guides customers through setting up and safely operating equipment.
• Diagnoses electrical and mechanical equipment failures.
• Troubleshooting lab equipment with customers over the phone and through e-Mail.
• Works closely with the engineering team to resolve product issues.
• Maintains excellent customer communication and follows up throughout the troubleshooting process.
• Provides detailed documentation of reported product issues and resolutions.
• Coordinates RMAs with the customer service department.
• Relays constructive item feedback to the product manager when possible.
• Participates in supplementary technical educational opportunities.

Education A Associates or Bachelor’s Degree in electrical engineering, mechanical engineering, or comparable area of study is strongly preferred but not mandatory. Skills/Knowledge

• Excellent PC skills including, but not limited to: Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• Demonstrated aptitude for troubleshooting and diagnosing technical problems.
• Must be customer-oriented and provide exceptional customer service.
• Outstanding verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong attention to detail, time management, and organizational skills.
• Able to work independently within defined processes and procedures.
• Product and industry knowledge pertaining to material processing, heat treatment, and vacuum products is preferred but not mandatory.
