Key responsibilities:As a Chef, you will report to our Head Chef and play a key role in leading andsupporting a talented kitchen team. About You: Minimum 2 years of experience in fast-paced kitchens serving high-qualitymenus. Proven skills in helping support capacity in teams and setting high standardsbeing able to run all areas of the kitchen, particularly in the Head Chef'sabsence. Ability to aid in the costings of all menus and learn and maintain food costcontrol practices Ability to work under pressure in a high volume, fast paced environmentmaintaining a level headed temperament. Self-motivation, can do attitude Participates in a 7 day working roster of days, nights, weekends and publicholidays Certificate III and Cert IV in Commercial cookery (minimum)Some of the duties you will be required to perform include: Planning and preparation of menu items to ensure guest satisfaction Menu planning which includes responsibility for ensuring Food and Labourcost percentages are enforced and adhere to on an ongoing basis. Monitoring quality of dishes at all stages of preparation and presentation Investigating any food complaints with Managers and Front of House staff Supervising and ensuring Hygiene and OHS standard procedures are adheredto. Knowledge of kitchen safety, hygiene practices and a variety of cookingtechniques Staff supervision and training to ensure food and labour costs are maintained.This position is available for an immediate start and only short-listed candidates willbe notified.
