Yellow Acorn Montessori has a toddler program (18 month – 36 months) and a Pre-School program (3 years – 5 years).Responsibilities will include, but will not be limited to the following:-Assisting in planning and implementing the daily program, sharing ideas, and coordinating classroom responsibilities with the teacher
-Provide a safe physical and emotional environment with appropriate expectations and limits for children
-Be able to respond appropriately in an emergency
-Helping children to become aware of their roles as integral members of a group
-Rendering staff support to all classrooms and staff when necessary
-Assisting in planning and preparing the learning environment, setting up interest centers, and preparing needed materials and supplies
-Being responsible for the orderly arrangement, appearance, décor, and learning environment of the classroom,
-Working as a team with all staff when necessary
-Assisting in the ongoing evaluation procedures needed to assess the developmental levels of the children,
-Supervising children on the playground, in classrooms, and on field trips
-Supervising the classroom when the teacher is out of the room
-Communicating information about children to teacher in charge regarding health, safety, problems, concerns, etc.
-Helping with the general housekeeping tasks including preparing, serving, and cleaning up after snacks, lunches, parties, and other activities
-Keeping daily attendance records
-Assuming an equal share of the joint housekeeping responsibilities of the staff,
-Changing diapers and/or assisting children with toileting as needed
-Attending all staff meetings and recommended training programs and conferences
-Maintaining ongoing communication with the head teacher covering such topics as classroom curriculum, responsibilities, individual children, parents, and other topics related to the classroom
-Participating in required and recommended training programs, conferences, courses, and other aspects of professional development
Qualifications- Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education or related field
- Montessori teaching certification
- Strong classroom management and childcare skills
- Experience working with preschool-aged children
- Proficiency in curriculum development and lesson planning
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Knowledge of behavior management and childhood development principles
- Familiarity with special education and early intervention strategies
