With continued growth across Western Australia, we are seeking a skilled
Edgebander Technician to join our Perth-based service team.
YOUR NEW ROLE Reporting directly to the Service Manager, you will join a team of highly trained technicians operating across Australia and New Zealand.
This position is ideal for someone with strong mechanical and electrical capability who has
hands-on experience repairing, installing, commissioning, and maintaining edgebanders across multiple brands.
Your responsibilities will include:- Preventive maintenance, breakdown servicing, and full installations of edgebanders
- Mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and control-system troubleshooting
- Machine setup, calibration, commissioning, and operator training
- Diagnosing glue systems, trimming units, scrapers, buffers, feed systems, and conveyors
- Providing technical support both on-site and remotely
- Preparing service reports, parts recommendations, and job documentation
- Participating in regular team meetings to share knowledge and discuss technical challenges
You will work a standard 40-hour week and will be paid hourly
($40-$50/hr depending on experience, approx. $90k-$100k+ package), with opportunities for additional overtime.
Comprehensive training and ongoing support will be provided.
YOUR PROFILE We are seeking a technically skilled individual with proven experience
repairing and installing edgebanders — not just operating them.
Your qualifications and experience should include:- Strong mechanical and electrical aptitude
- Ability to read mechanical and electrical schematics
- Solid fault-finding and diagnostic capability
- Experience across glue systems, trimming units, scrapers, buffers, pneumatic systems, and electrical controls
- Excellent communication and customer-service skills
- High attention to detail, organisation, and computer literacy
- Ability to work both autonomously and collaboratively
- Current driver's licence
- Willingness to travel occasionally for work away from home
Highly desirable skills:- Experience with CNC woodworking machinery
- Field service, mechanical fitting, or electrical background
- Exposure to brands such as SCM, Biesse, Hebrock, Holzher, Homag, or similar
- Understanding of machine control systems and process integration
