Your key responsibilities will be to:
- lead the design and continuous improvement of the University's research governance and assurance framework
- provide strategic leadership of human research ethics, animal ethics and animal welfare governance systems
- advise on complex, high‑risk and sensitive research proposals and integrity matters
- lead institutional research integrity frameworks, including the management of allegations and investigations
- oversee research data governance frameworks, including emerging risks such as artificial intelligence
- establish and oversee research assurance, compliance monitoring and risk reporting across the research lifecycle
- provide authoritative advice to the Pro‑Vice‑Chancellor (Research) and senior leaders on governance, ethics and integrity matters
- represent the University with regulators and external stakeholders as required
- lead, develop and mentor high‑performing teams and build institutional capability in ethical research practice.
About you
- extensive senior‑level experience in research governance, ethics, integrity or regulatory compliance within a complex organisation
- demonstrated ability to exercise sound professional judgement on matters with legal, regulatory and reputational implications
- proven experience leading institutional frameworks, policy development and continuous improvement initiatives
- strong stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to influence and advise senior executives and committees
- demonstrated leadership capability, including developing high‑performing teams and fostering a culture of trust and accountability
- postgraduate qualifications in a relevant field, or an equivalent combination of relevant training and experience.
