Position Overview Job Title: Senior Engineer Location: Birmingham Corporate Title: - Vice President ITAO Governance is critical function within TDI. This role is specific to ‘Control Workbench’ management. This application is a central dashboard for top level management across TDI which procures the data from various golden sources across the bank. The application provides a view to the CIO and Application Owners in the bank with regards to compliance and governance as a dashboard of priortised tasks. Control Workbench has key controls linked to Capacity Management across the organisation so a strong understanding of capacity management would be a benefit but not critical. Your key responsibilities
  • Demonstrate strong engineering leadership, including solid communication and analytical abilities, with a thorough understanding of product development
  • Provide guidance and coaching to engineers while working cross-functionally with global engineering teams, systems engineering, program managers, and technology leaders,
  • Design and develop web-based applications with both backend and frontend services.
  • Design and develop secure and robust APIs using technologies such as Python Flask and Angular.
  • Participate in design sessions with fellow programmers, functional analysts, and other team members to analyse business requirements for a proposed IT solution, while prototyping creative solutions and collaborating with others to implement technical visions.
  • Manage vendor partnerships as needed to ensure delivery is being maintained to high standard

Your skills and experience
  • Education & Expertise: Bachelor's/Master's in ECE, EEE, CS, IT, or STEM. Knowledge in React/Angular, Cloud/UI tech, Python Flask/Django, Java or equivalent experience
  • Experience: Software development/engineering or software quality engineering. Leadership/management role for medium-large projects/teams.
  • Skills: Angular/React/UI frameworks, Python Flask/Django, Oracle/SQL Server/MySQL, HTML5/CSS/JavaScript frameworks, SQL, ORM models like SQLAlchemy, Unix/Linux, WebSocket, containerization, Ansible.
  • Development & Management: On-prem/cloud architecture (GCP/DataLakehouse), software life cycle management, Agile principles.
  • Leadership: Global team collaboration, Agile team leadership, influencing & communication skills.
  • Additional Skills: CI/CD pipelines (TeamCity/Jenkins), cloud deployment (OpenShift/GCP), containers (Docker/Kubernetes), SDLC methodologies, OOPS, architectural/design patterns, continuous delivery. Customer focus, problem-solving, communication.
