Company Description

Are you an Internal Medicine Specialist looking to shape something new, with full support behind you?

AEC Moorabbin is offering a unique opportunity to lead and grow our brand-new Medicine department in a purpose-built hospital where collaboration is not just encouraged, it’s expected.

Join a team that’s not only kind and respectful but genuinely excited to welcome medicine into our ecosystem of surgical and ECC care.

About AEC + Specialty Care Moorabbin:

This brand-new 1300m² hospital has been thoughtfully designed for optimal patient, client, and team experience. It features eight consult rooms and a visiting room, with separate cat and dog waiting areas, wards, and an ICU to ensure the highest standards of care. The hospital also boasts a dedicated surgical wing with three state-of-the-art theatres, along with a wildlife and exotic ward. Advanced diagnostic capabilities include CT, MRI (coming soon), fluoroscopy, and endoscopy, supporting a wide variety of complex cases. We are also committed to working closely with the successful applicant to ensure they have the tools they need to deliver the highest standard of care.

Your new workplace is designed not only for patients and clients, but also with team wellbeing in mind. Your shifts are enhanced with natural light throughout, skylights, and carefully designed consult rooms and offices to enhance comfort and workflow. With ergonomic workstations and well-equipped surgical spaces, this is an environment where you can truly thrive.

Job Description

The Position:

This is a full-time position over a 4-day work week (10-hour shifts). You’ll work closely with our 24/7 ECC team, Specialty Surgery, and a visiting Cardiologist (onsite 2 days a week), collaborating on complex cases in a supportive, team-focused environment. While the role is entirely clinical, there are opportunities to contribute to leadership discussions, referring vet engagement, and internal team development. As this is a new department, your role will also involve relationship-building with both internal teams and the wider referral network. The ability to perform ultrasound, endoscopy, fluoroscopy, and chemotherapy is highly desirable, as we do not currently have an on-site radiologist.

Qualifications

About you:

A veterinary degree registerable in Australia with specialist qualifications (FANZCVS, DACVIM or DECVIM) is required, although candidates who have completed residency training and are intending to sit specialist exams soon are invited to apply.
