Software Engineer

Honda Racing Corporation, a leader in Motorsports Racing is seeking a highly organized and detailed oriented Data Analytics/Software Engineer to join its Racing program in Santa Clarita, California location (North Los Angeles County).The primary focus of the Data Analytics group is to support HRC’s engineering efforts by developing in- house software and processes to aid in the collection, storage, processing and analysis of measurement and metadata from a multitude of sources, with the goal of improving the ease, speed, and accuracy with which we make data-based engineering decisions.Responsibilities include: Convert abstract requests for data analysis software solutions into concrete, full-stack implementations while adhering to SWE best practices.Produce material based on stakeholder requests outlining expected project outcomes and timeline. Propose and implement new methods of data analysis and visualization.Troubleshoot, debug, and upgrade existing software. Participate in code reviews to maintain quality and share knowledge. Support and develop existing processes to improve code quality, software robustness or flexibility, improve software efficiency and efficacy, or increase insight gained from data analytics software products.Create and maintain software documentation, document and report project and personal status.Explore and develop solutions to new problems facing the team, helping to expand the frontier of the team’s technical capabilities.BS degree in Computer Science or other applicable field, or 5 years of similar work experience.Minimum Experience 1-3 years of experience using programming, mathematical, or statistical methods to gain insight to data or improve efficiency. Previous experience managing and storing data. Previous technical report writing experience.Previous project management experience. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Ability to work in a team environment. Ability to work effectively under pressure in a diverse environment.
