You will actively communicate and promote the Santander UK and Group vision, objectives, and structures so that the team understands the wider direction; understand and promote how the wider bank (including One Europe) and its functions operate; maintain and develop a relevant understanding around the UK Banking sector and in particular Corporate Banking.
You will lead a team of Relationship Directors and Managers in Corporate Clients, to sustainably achieve all the objectives for the portfolio of clients you will managing, meeting financial expectations and ensuring clients receive a great experience, including timely intervention when required.
You will also be responsible and accountable for driving primacy, growing the portfolio and meeting all governance requirements such as credit stewardship and financial crime.

- Driving high levels of client insight and creating advocates of the Corporate Bank through the teams’ portfolio, as well as building relationships with key influencers and professionals across the sectors and to positively develop Santander’s market profile and presence.
- Coach a team of RDs and RMs to improve their skills and knowledge, helping to build an excellent team, fostering the contribution of ideas and building of alignment among people.
What you’ll bring:
- Experience of developing and driving a regional business development strategy, to deliver the Corporate Bank’s ambitious growth, through existing client network and intermediaries.
- High level of credit underwriting skills, as well as structuring skills and a deep knowledge of related risk and other financial products available to the corporate market.
- Proven track record of directly originating profitable new business in the Corporate Banking arena.
- Excellent presentation, negotiation, analytical, and report-writing skills.

What else you need to know:
- This role is based in Triton Square.
- We want our people to thrive at work and home and also be able to deliver the best outcomes for our customers and to help each other develop. To support this, we offer site-based contracts with a hybrid working pattern and our expected level of attendance in an office is at least 12 days per month (pro-rata for part-time roles).

How we’ll reward you:
As well as a competitive salary, you’ll enjoy a benefits package that you can tailor to your needs. For part-time / contract roles, your salary, bonus (where eligible) and certain benefits will be prorated to reflect your working hours / contract duration.
- Eligible for a discretionary performance-related annual bonus.
- We put 8% of salary into your pension, even if you don’t contribute yourself. We’ll pay in up to 12.5% of salary, if you contribute as well, and you can take some of our contribution in cash if you prefer.
- 30 days’ holiday plus bank holidays, which increases to 31 days after 5yrs service, with the option to purchase up to 5 contractual days per year.
