Fire Alarm & AOV Engineer

Job SummaryWe are seeking an experienced Fire Alarm & Automatic Opening Vent (AOV) Engineer to join our growing life‑safety team. The successful candidate will be responsible for the installation, inspection, testing, maintenance, and fault‑finding of fire alarm and smoke ventilation systems across residential and commercial sites.This role requires a competent, reliable engineer with strong knowledge of UK fire safety standards and a customer‑focused approach. Key Responsibilities

• Install, service, test, and maintain Fire Alarm Systems (conventional and addressable)
• Inspect, test, and maintain AOV / Smoke Ventilation Systems in line with BS standards
• Carry out fault‑finding, diagnosis, and rectification of system issues
• Complete inspections in accordance with BS 5839, BS 7346‑8, and BS 9999
• Ensure systems comply with the Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005
• Complete accurate service reports, certificates, and compliance documentation
• Liaise professionally with clients, site managers, housing officers, and residents
• Attend reactive call‑outs and emergency breakdowns when required
• Ensure all work is carried out safely and in accordance with company procedures

Required Skills & Experience

• Proven experience as a Fire Alarm Engineer and/or AOV Engineer
• Strong knowledge of UK fire and smoke ventilation regulations
• Experience with control panels, detectors, actuators, batteries, and interfaces
• Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and system schematics
• Good fault‑finding and problem‑solving skills
• Competent in completing digital or paper service documentation
• Full UK driving licence

Qualifications (Preferred)

• FIA / FETA / BAFE‑related training or equivalent
• BS 5839 awareness or certification
• IPAF / PASMA
• ECS / CSCS card

Pay: £24,420.00-£57,530.86 per yearBenefits:
