Job Description

We are seeking a Senior Data Scientist to join our innovative team in Manchester, United Kingdom. As a key member of our data science department, you will leverage your expertise to extract valuable insights from complex datasets, develop advanced machine learning models, and drive data-driven decision-making across the organisation.
  • Design and implement sophisticated machine learning algorithms and statistical models to solve complex business problems
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify opportunities for data-driven solutions and improvements
  • Develop and maintain scalable data pipelines for efficient data processing and analysis
  • Create compelling data visualisations and reports to communicate findings to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
  • Mentor junior data scientists and contribute to the overall growth of the data science team
  • Stay abreast of the latest advancements in data science and machine learning, incorporating new techniques and technologies as appropriate
  • Contribute to the development of best practices and standards for data science workflows within the organisation

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in data science or a related field
  • Extensive knowledge of advanced statistical analysis and machine learning algorithms
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, R, and SQL
  • Familiarity with database management systems, experience of cloud-based systems such as Snowflake
  • Expertise in data visualisation tools such as Tableau or Power BI
  • Proven track record of developing and implementing machine learning models in a business context
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with meticulous attention to detail
  • Excellent communication skills and ability to explain complex concepts to non-technical audiences
  • Experience with large-scale data processing and analysis
  • Knowledge of industry-specific applications of data science and business intelligence
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced, collaborative environment
  • Right to work in the UK (visa sponsorship may be available for exceptional candidates)
