two experienced and motivated Chefs to join our kitchen team on a
full-time basis.Position Details
- Position: Chef (2 Positions)
- Employment Type: Full-time (38 hours per week)
- Salary: $75,000 – $85,000 per annum plus superannuation
- Location: Withcott Hotel, Withcott QLD
Key Duties and ResponsibilitiesThe successful candidates will perform duties consistent with the role of
Chef, including but not limited to:
- Planning menus and assisting in developing new dishes in consultation with management.
- Estimating food and labour costs and assisting with ordering and stock control.
- Monitoring quality of dishes at all stages of preparation, cooking, and presentation.
- Preparing and cooking a wide range of meals in accordance with menu specifications.
- Ensuring all food is prepared and presented to a consistently high standard.
- Demonstrating cooking techniques and providing guidance to junior kitchen staff.
- Maintaining high standards of food hygiene, workplace safety, and kitchen cleanliness.
- Managing food preparation, portion control, and minimizing wastage.
- Ensuring compliance with food safety regulations and kitchen procedures.
- Assisting with kitchen operations during busy service periods, functions, and special events.
Essential Requirements
- Certificate III or IV in Commercial Cookery (or equivalent qualification) – compulsory.
- Minimum 2 years of relevant work experience as a Chef.
- Strong knowledge of kitchen operations, food preparation techniques, and food safety practices.
- Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
- Excellent organisational and time management skills.
- Strong teamwork and communication skills.
- Availability to work evenings, weekends, and public holidays as required.
Desirable Attributes
- Experience working in a hotel, pub, or bistro environment.
- Passion for delivering high-quality meals and maintaining consistency in food service.
- Ability to supervise and train junior kitchen staff when required.
- Creativity in menu development and presentation.
