The venue serves lunch and dinner daily and is building a strong reputation for great food and hospitality.Due to business growth, we are currently seeking two experienced and motivated Chefs to join our kitchen team on a full-time basis.Position Details
  • Position: Chef (2 Positions)
  • Employment Type: Full-time (38 hours per week)
  • Salary: $75,000 – $85,000 per annum plus superannuation
  • Location: Withcott Hotel, Withcott QLD

Key Duties and ResponsibilitiesThe successful candidates will perform duties consistent with the role of Chef, including but not limited to:
  • Planning menus and assisting in developing new dishes in consultation with management.
  • Estimating food and labour costs and assisting with ordering and stock control.
  • Monitoring quality of dishes at all stages of preparation, cooking, and presentation.
  • Preparing and cooking a wide range of meals in accordance with menu specifications.
  • Ensuring all food is prepared and presented to a consistently high standard.
  • Demonstrating cooking techniques and providing guidance to junior kitchen staff.
  • Maintaining high standards of food hygiene, workplace safety, and kitchen cleanliness.
  • Managing food preparation, portion control, and minimizing wastage.
  • Ensuring compliance with food safety regulations and kitchen procedures.
  • Assisting with kitchen operations during busy service periods, functions, and special events.

Essential Requirements
  • Certificate III or IV in Commercial Cookery (or equivalent qualification) – compulsory.
  • Minimum 2 years of relevant work experience as a Chef.
  • Strong knowledge of kitchen operations, food preparation techniques, and food safety practices.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills.
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills.
  • Availability to work evenings, weekends, and public holidays as required.

Desirable Attributes
  • Experience working in a hotel, pub, or bistro environment.
  • Passion for delivering high-quality meals and maintaining consistency in food service.
  • Ability to supervise and train junior kitchen staff when required.
  • Creativity in menu development and presentation.
