The Opportunity
An opportunity is available for a Staff Specialist Anaesthetist ready to step into a role that combines professional responsibility with a fresh and uplifting coastal lifestyle. You will provide anaesthetic care across elective and emergency services, supporting a wide range of surgical and medical activity. This role is well suited to anaesthetists seeking clinical breadth, stability, and the pleasure of working within a supportive multidisciplinary team.
The Hospital
This is a major regional hospital of approximately 200 beds that functions as the principal referral centre for its region. The hospital delivers both acute and sub-acute services and has recently undergone significant redevelopment, strengthening emergency, maternity, rehabilitation, and peri-operative services.
The anaesthetic department is well established and supported by experienced consultants, nursing staff, and modern facilities. The hospital environment is secure, well resourced, and designed to support high-quality patient care alongside clinician wellbeing.
The Location
The role is based in a coastal regional centre where sunshine, ocean air, and open space shape everyday life. The area offers beautiful beaches, access to national parks, and a calm, scenic rhythm outside of work.

Requirements
Applicants will meet one or more of the following criteria:
- Hold or be eligible for Specialist Registration with AHPRA
- Have at least 12 months recent experience working as an Anaesthetist
- Be on the ANZCA training program and approaching Fellowship
- Hold Fellowship of the Australian and New Zealand College of Anaesthetists (FANZCA)
- International Medical Graduates eligible for recognised ANZCA pathways, including Competent Authority jurisdictions
- International Medical Graduates with a confirmed ANZCA interview date
- International Medical Graduates already assessed by ANZCA and found to be substantially comparable
