- We are seeking a chef to build and develop a new and dynamic team at the Theodore Hotel. Originally built as a boarding house for Theodore’s first residents, Theodore Hotel continues a proud tradition of offering friendly service and delicious meals. If you have passion and creative flair coupled with solid culinary skills and a propensity for efficient kitchen processes then we have the place for you to shine. This role is offered as live in or drive in/out at Theodore, Banana Shire, Queensland.
Skills and Qualifications- Alacarte including Char Grill experience as a Qualified Chef and a strong understanding of current food trends
- Reliable, punctual and level headed under pressure
- Ability to communicate and collaborate within a team environment of Chefs, kitchenhands and front to house staff
- Food Safety Certificate
- Driving license preferred,
Key Responsibilities- Maintain a hands-on approach to deliver all food experiences from restaurant dining to functions and events
- Undertake the daily preparation, production and presentation of food.
- Collaborate with the head chef to create menus balanced with flare and efficiency
- Drive continuous improvements that support profit and reputation growth
- Monitor food stocks and stock movement, including stock deliveries, rotation and preparing stock orders in a timely and efficient manner.
- Ensure mis en place is completed in all sections of the kitchen.
- Complete cleaning schedules for the kitchen to ensure all working and storage areas are clean and tidy.
- Train kitchen hands and staff
- Report to the Executive Chef
