Chef (Full-Time)Location: Batemans Bay, NSW
Business: Oyster Cove
Employment Type: Full-Time, Permanent
Salary: $76,515–$86,600 per annum + Superannuation (depending on experience)Oyster Cove is a premium waterfront restaurant and cocktail bar in Batemans Bay, known for its modern Australian menu, seasonal produce, and quality dining experience. We are seeking a motivated and experienced Chef to join our growing kitchen team.About the RoleAs a Chef, you will work closely with the Head Chef to prepare and deliver high-quality dishes while maintaining the highest standards of food safety, consistency, and presentation.Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare and cook menu items to a consistently high standard.
  • Assist with the development and implementation of seasonal menus and specials.
  • Monitor food quality, portion control, and presentation.
  • Ensure compliance with food safety, hygiene, and WHS regulations.
  • Assist with stock ordering, stock rotation, and inventory control.
  • Minimise food waste and maintain cost-effective kitchen practices.
  • Work collaboratively with the kitchen team during busy service periods.
  • Maintain a clean, organised, and efficient work environment.
  • Assist in training and mentoring junior kitchen staff when required.

Skills & Experience
  • Certificate III or Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery (or equivalent qualification).
  • At least 2 years of relevant post-qualification experience as a Chef, or 3 years of relevant industry experience where no formal qualification is held.
  • Strong knowledge of modern Australian cuisine and food preparation techniques.
  • Ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen.
  • Excellent organisational and time management skills.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • Availability to work evenings, weekends, and public holidays.
