Position Overview:This is the technical and operational leader of our specialist floor cleaning team. You will:
- Supervise, coach, and quality-check a team of casual evening cleaners
- Perform daytime technical work including site assessments, quoting, repairs, and flood restoration
- Recruit and train new casual workers to maintain a reliable, scalable evening workforce
- This is a hands-on hybrid role: 60% technician, 40% supervisor.
Key Responsibilities: 1. Casual Workforce Management (40%) - Recruit, onboard & train new casual floor cleaners as needed (1-2per month)
- Deliver hands-on training sessions (equipment, techiques, safety, quality standards)
- Build and maintain a team of 4-6 reliable casuals covering 5-6 evening shifts per week.
- Conduct minimum 2 evening coaching sessions per week (6pm to late) to:
- Observe live cleaning
- Provide real-time feedback
- Ensure consistency across sites
- Perform random quality audits using photo checklists and client feedback
- Manage casual availability via chat and scheduling tools
2. Daytime Technical & Operational Delivery (60%) - Conduct 3-5 daily site visits to:
- Measure and photograph floors
- Assess condition and scope of work
- Capture data for accurate quoting
- Complete adhoc minor flooring repairs
- Rapid Response for floods & water damage in NSW
- Onsite inspections and reporting to Special Projects Manager
- Delivery of humidifiers, blowers etc. to water damaged sites
- Maintain company vehicles, equipment, and storeroom
- Weekly stock checks
- Servicing equipment
- Cleanliness
- Act as on-site problem solver for urgent client or operational issues
Requirements & Skills: - Proven flooring repair skills will be valuable but not necessary.
- Full Driver’s license and ability to travel daily across Sydney.
- Experience training or coaching others in technical or hands-on tasks.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
- Professional Presentation for client-facing site visits.
- Fast learner, able to adapt to new sites and equipment.
- Experience scheduling
- Basic quoting of measurement skills
- Strong time management skills with the ability to prioritise and meet deadlines.
