A Day in the Life

The Commercial Operations Analyst is responsible for supporting the operational activities that drive the success of the sales organization. This role combines driving commercial excellence, sales analytics, and process improvement to support revenue growth and enhance customer and organizational stakeholder satisfaction. As a core member of the Channel Innovation & Customer Engagement leadership team, the Principal Analyst, Commercial Operations will act as a catalyst for growth, driving the design and execution of innovative commercial strategies that expand market presence, elevate customer engagement, and accelerate revenue performance. The ideal candidate will pair strong analytical and operational expertise with a growth mindset and collaborative leadership style—empowering the sales organization to deliver extraordinary results.

The role requires cross-functional collaboration, process optimization, connection with marketing, and leadership to ensure the sales organization is equipped with the tools, resources, training, and marketing assets needed to succeed. This role reports to the VP, Channel Innovation & Customer Engagement and sits on the Channel Innovation & Customer Engagement (CICE) leadership team.

Commercial Operations and Performance:
  • Define opportunities and targets to accelerate growth aligned with the business strategy by leading ad-hoc data analysis and partnership with the sales and marketing leaders
  • Create and scale sales processes, systems and tools to enable high performance and achieve objectives
  • Streamline workflows, roles, processes and systems to improve operational efficiency, leveraging AI to accelerate time to value
  • Prepare quarterly business review analytics; highlighting areas of strength and weakness to improve performance
  • Drive automation and integration of sales tools to enhance productivity
  • Uncover trends within the data to understand drivers of performance and translate those insights into actionable recommendations for leadership, leveraging and developing AI solutions where concretely valuable

Sales Enablement:
  • Translate requirements from ad-hoc analysis to technology teams enabling them to build scalable technology to automate sales processes and analytics to accelerate performance

Cross-Functional Collaboration:
  • Partner closely with marketing, sales, and strategy in CICE to align strategies and execution to meet sales goals
  • Independently run analysis and hypothesis testing based on business questions from cross functional partners and provide a comprehensive narrative of the behavioral patterns present in the data
  • Ability to influence and inspire cross-functional teams to adopt new ways of working and deliver stretch growth goals.

Must Have: Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, or a related field
  • 7+ years sales analytics experience
  • Knowledge of CRM systems (salesforce.com) and sales analytics tools

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in Business Administration or a related field
  • Experience in the medical device or healthcare industry
  • Proven experience in sales operations, sales management, or a related role
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively with cross-functional teams
  • Proficiency in sales tools and technologies
  • Strong leadership and team management skills
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced, dynamic environment

For Baccalaureate degrees earned outside of the United States, a degree that satisfies the requirements of 8 C.F.R.

Salary ranges for U.S (excl. PR) locations (USD):$108,000.00 - $162,000.00

This position is eligible for a short-term incentive called the Medtronic Incentive Plan (MIP).

The base salary range is applicable across the United States, excluding Puerto Rico and specific locations in California. The offered rate complies with federal and local regulations and may vary based on factors such as experience, certification/education, market conditions, and location. Compensation and benefits information pertains solely to candidates hired within the United States (local market compensation and benefits will apply for others).

The following benefits and additional compensation are available to those regular employees who work 20+ hours per week: Health, Dental and vision insurance, Health Savings Account, Healthcare Flexible Spending Account, Life insurance, Long-term disability leave, Dependent daycare spending account, Tuition assistance/reimbursement, and Simple Steps (global well-being program).

The following benefits and additional compensation are available to all regular employees: Incentive plans, 401(k) plan plus employer contribution and match, Short-term disability, Paid time off, Paid holidays, Employee Stock Purchase Plan, Employee Assistance Program, Non-qualified Retirement Plan Supplement (subject to IRS earning minimums), and Capital Accumulation Plan (available to Vice Presidents and above, or subject to IRS earning minimums).

Regular employees are those who are not temporary, such as interns. Temporary employees are eligible for paid sick time, as required under applicable state law, and the Employee Stock Purchase Plan. Please note some of the above benefits may not apply to workers in Puerto Rico.
