Electrical Engineer - HV Cable Systems | Relocate to the Netherlands

Introduction Design the infrastructure of tomorrow | Relocate to the Netherlands Engineerest is partnering with a leading European consultancy to find experienced Electrical Engineers with a focus on high-voltage cable systems. This role involves the design and optimisation of both underground and subsea cable networks used in large-scale energy infrastructure and grid integration projects.  About the RoleAs a Cable Systems Engineer, you’ll play a key role in ensuring the performance, safety, and efficiency of complex HV cable installations. You’ll work alongside specialists across multiple disciplines to deliver high-impact projects that support Europe’s energy transition.Your Key Responsibilities

• Design and assess high-voltage cable systems for energy and grid projects
• Perform detailed calculations: load flow, thermal performance, and cable ratings
• Oversee routing, installation, and optimisation of underground and subsea cable networks
• Collaborate with electrical, mechanical, and civil engineering teams
• Ensure technical compliance with EU regulations, safety protocols, and project standards
• Support testing, fault analysis, risk assessments, and project documentation

What You Bring

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline
• 5+ years of experience with HV cable design and energy infrastructure
• Proficiency in cable specification, routing, insulation, and performance modelling
• Knowledge of grid integration and load flow analysis
• Familiarity with design tools such as AutoCAD or similar software
• Fluent in Afrikaans and English
• Eagerness to learn and grow within a dynamic engineering environment
