Job Description:
Join WesTrac's New Machines Construction team at Perth Airport as a Plant Mechanic, working with industry-leading Cat® construction equipment. This workshop-based role offers variety, ongoing technical development and the opportunity to build a long-term career with one of the world's leading Caterpillar dealerships.Department OverviewReporting to the Workshop Supervisor, you'll join a supportive and safety-focused team responsible for completing dealer-installed options, customer-requested modifications, diagnostic troubleshooting and warranty repairs on Caterpillar construction equipment. Working within a modern workshop environment, you'll be supported by experienced leaders and have access to ongoing training and development through the award-winning WesTrac Institute. Roster8 Days On, 6 Days Off | Day Shift Only | 12 Hours Per DayEnjoy a Perth-based roster that allows you to be home every night while working on some of the industry's leading equipment. What You'll Do
  • Complete dealer-installed options and customer-requested modifications on CAT construction equipment - Skidsteers, Mini Excavators, Graders, Dozers & Loaders.
  • Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, hydraulic and electrical faults.
  • Carry out warranty repairs and product improvement programs.
  • Conduct machine testing, calibrations and pre-delivery inspections.
  • Complete service reports and maintain accurate documentation.
  • Ensure all work is completed safely, efficiently and to a high standard.

Skills & Experience
  • Australian-recognised Heavy Mobile Plant, Mobile Plant Mechanic or Heavy Vehicle Trade Certificate.
  • 3+ years' post-trade experience working on CAT construction equipment.
  • Experience on BCP machinery range is ideal
  • Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics and diagrams.
  • Ability to work autonomously and within a team environment.
  • Strong commitment to safety, quality workmanship and customer service.
