Job Description:
Grade AMN2: £48,288 - £91,753** per annum CMVM / Institute for Regeneration and Repair / Centre for Inflammation Research Full-time: 40 hours per week Fixed Term: 12 months (up to 31 Aug 2026) - any appointment over step 4 of AMN2 may result in reduced contract length
The Opportunity: Computational workflows and artificial intelligence are helping define next-generation pathology to facilitate personalised medicine. This is an opportunity to experience the intersection of digital clinical and academic pathology, learning how to use computational pathology workflows and to develop and test AI algorithms using open-source and commercial software platforms. This post is full-time (40 hours per week) and requires on-campus working. The salary for this post is £48,288 to £91,753 per annum*/**
  • Salary will be determined on the basis of previous service in the NHS training grades. Normally you will be matched to your current incremental point or nearest equivalent. If you are currently a member of the NHS Pension Scheme and are employed in a clinical post it may be possible for you to remain a member of the NHS Pension Scheme.

** Please note that any appointment over AMN2, step 4 may result in reduced contract length.
Your skills and attributes for success:
  • GMC registration
  • This post is suited for a trainee who aspires to be a Histopathologist with a career interest in academic and computational pathology.
  • Ability to interface and work with multi-disciplinary teams across science and medicine
  • An Honorary NHS contract will be sought for the successful post holder. You therefore must be eligible to hold an honorary contract with NHS Lothian and must also be registered with the General Medical Council
