This newly created leadership role will see you take ownership of an asset management team responsible for the full lifecycle of a Canterbury-based electricity distribution network. The Role Reporting to the Head of Asset Management and Operations, you'll shape long-term asset lifecycle plans, introduce smarter modelling tools, and leverage technology (including AI) to keep the network safe, reliable, and future-ready.
We're seeking an experienced, forward-thinking leader to guide an asset management team and deliver strategies that will enhance performance, extend asset life, and manage risk effectively.
Responsibilities include: - Lead, coach, and develop a team of asset managers with varied levels of experience
- Build and implement asset lifecycle strategies for replacements and maintenance
- Use data, modelling, and technology to enhance asset health and risk management
- Monitor budgets, performance, and compliance with industry standards
- Collaborate across engineering, operations, and service delivery teams
Ideal Experience You'll bring:
- Relevant tertiary qualification
- Proven leadership experience in asset management or related technical fields
- Strong knowledge of asset lifecycle planning, ideally within utilities or infrastructure
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organisational skills
- Proficiency with asset management and business software
