Location: Ringwood Mowers (50 Maroondah Highway, Ringwood VIC 3134) Work Schedule: Monday – Friday (No weekend shifts) Employment Type: Full-time Remuneration: Competitive salary based on experience Visa Sponsorship: Subclass 482 visa sponsorship available for eligible candidates About B.W. We are currently seeking an experienced, detail-oriented Small Engine Mechanic to join our dedicated team at our Ringwood location. Key Responsibilities Working in our fully equipped Ringwood workshop, your primary duties will include:
  • Diagnostics & Fault Finding: Inspecting, testing, and diagnosing mechanical and electrical faults in small engines and outdoor power equipment.
  • Repairs & Overhauls: Dismantling engine assemblies, transmissions, steering mechanisms, and related components; repairing or replacing worn/defective parts; and reassembling machinery according to manufacturer service manuals.
  • Routine Maintenance: Performing scheduled servicing—including oil changes, lubrication, system tune-ups, and emissions compliance checks—to ensure optimal equipment performance.
  • Testing & Quality Control: Reassembling, adjusting, and rigorously testing equipment post-repair to guarantee safety and operational standard.
  • Workshop Operations: Servicing a wide range of outdoor power machinery, including push mowers, ride-on mowers, brushcutters/trimmers, chainsaws, blowers, and related equipment.

What We Are Looking For
  • Experience: Proven experience in small engine mechanics or light mechanical repairs (outdoor power equipment experience preferred).
  • Technical Skills: Sound knowledge of two-stroke and four-stroke engines, basic electrical systems, and mechanical diagnostics.
  • Work Ethic: Strong attention to detail, pride in workmanship, and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
  • Growth Mindset: A proactive attitude with an interest in leadership development.
