Background We are Fourstroke – an Amsterdam-based algorithmic trading firm. Our goal is to capture market–making and arbitrage opportunities across a wide variety of digital assets and exchanges. Our trading infrastructure is fully automated and runs 24/7, making thousands of trades every day across hundreds of order books.
Fourstroke started in November 2021. Over the past four years, we've built, and continuously improved our trading infrastructure and algorithms. Today, we have developed ultra-fast, low-latency infrastructure and have a leading position at a handful of exchanges. We are at a very exciting point where we are scaling our trading operations to new exchanges and growing fast in our AUM and revenue. In this role, you'll have the opportunity to enhance and sophisticate our existing trading strategies through advanced quantitative research and data-driven insights. While we have a solid core strategy foundation, there's tremendous scope for you to bring fresh ideas, implement new methodologies, and drive the evolution of our approaches. Through this, you'll have significant influence and impact on the company's trading performance and strategic direction.
Responsibilities - Conduct research on trading problems with a practical and solution-driven mindset.
- Explore new trading opportunities and build back-testing tools.
- Test your ideas using high-volume market data.
- Collaborate with the engineers to implement strategies in production.
- Monitor implemented strategies, tweak configuration and provide support when needed.
Profile - 2+ years in a quantitative research role (prop trading, market making, HFT, or similar), preferably in crypto.
- BSc/MSc/PhD in a quantitative field (Math, Physics, Econometrics, Computer Science Operations Research, etc.).
- Solid understanding of financial markets, market microstructure, and trading concepts.
- Proficient in Python and managing large datasets (SQL and data pipelines), familiarity with Rust is a plus.
- Ability to work independently and drive research projects from conception to implementation.
- Enjoy working with a small and dedicated team.
- Interested in and curious about trading and digital assets.
