The Role
An opportunity has become available for a Clinical Nurse (Post-Anaesthetic Care Unit) to join Gold Coast Health (GCH) where the focus of our 12 000-strong team is on providing world-class health care to people living in the Gold Coast, and northern New South Wales region of Australia.
You will
- Work collaboratively with Nurse Unit Managers and Educators in managing education
- Assist with performance planning and review programs of clinical staff
- Contribute to professional development by acting as a resource for clinical care needs
- Be accountable for own clinical decision making and managing unsafe practice
- Actively participate in achieving unit goals using evidence-based practice and innovation
About you
To be successful in this position you will require:- Bachelor of Nursing or equivalent
- Registration with the Nursing Midwifery Board of Australia
- Evidence of vaccination, or be able to be vaccinated against and remain vaccinated against - Measles, Mumps, Rubella, Varicella, Pertussis and Hepatitis B
- Tuberculosis screening, to identify if the tuberculosis vaccination may be required
- Declaration of serious discipline history must be disclosed
- Criminal History Screening will be required for new employees (GCH will cover cost)

Salary
- Permanent full time
- Base salary ranging from $107 960 - $115 604 per annum
About Us
The Gold Coast Hospital Perioperative Service is located on the second floor of D block Gold Coast University Hospital and services patients requiring elective and emergency surgical procedures for the Gold Coast district, which extends from south of the Logan River to the Queensland-New South Wales (NSW) border at Tweed heads and west to Beechmont and Tamborine Mountain. Also incorporating emergency cases from Northern New South Wales as required.
The Gold Coast, Robina and Varsity Lakes Day Hospital are specialised departments that work closely to provide a high standard of patient centred care sharing resources and equipment as required to provide the best care possible for our patients. This service also works closely with the Specialty Clinical Care Coordinators to try to meet both the elective and emergency surgery demands of the region.
