The donation is used to drive research and innovation capacity in Western Australia by awarding Forrest Scholarships and Fellowships to outstanding young intellects from around the world to conduct research at one of Western Australia’s five universities.
About the opportunityThe Forrest Research Foundation is offering a prestigious three-year postdoctoral Fellowship in 2026 to outstanding researchers from around the world to conduct paradigm-shifting research based at any of Western Australia’s five universities.The opportunity will be in the area of School of Biological SciencesThese generous fellowships provide a stipend and accommodation at Forrest Hall in a luxury self-contained studio apartment.
- Salary consistent with a Level A Step 8 appointment plus 17% superannuation
- Accommodation Allowance of $25,116 per annum in 2025 (subject to marginal tax rate)
- Research allowance of $12,000. This allowance is available for approved research-related expenses, overseas research, and conference travel.
- All interstate and international Fellows can apply for a relocation allowance which can be discussed with the Director if successful.
About you- Completed 4 years of tertiary study or equivalent qualifications and experience
- Demonstrated ability to relate well to staff and students at all levels and evidence of a commitment to equity and diversity principles.
- Outstanding academic achievements.
- Exceptional ability, resourcefulness and originality.
- Demonstration of how the award would help build world-class innovation and research capacity in Western Australia
