Job Description:

Role: Early Childhood Educator Assistant, Float Wage: $21.61 for ECEA certificate Benefits: YMCA membership, paid sick days for yourself and family, 6% vacation pay (includes scheduled operational closures), paid training, full benefits package, 5% employer-matched pension, education and career advancement opportunities. BC PNP Support Terms: Full-Time, Permanent Hours: 40 hours/week rotating shifts between the hours of 7:00am and 5:30pm Monday to Friday

Location: All early years programs in Prince George Start date: ASAP

  • Responsibilities of this role:Interact directly with the children, providing quality care and creative programming.
  • Establish and maintain positive daily communications and interactions with families
  • Assist in planning and implementing of a consistent child-centred program
  • To work with staff team to deliver a high quality and age-appropriate programs based on the YMCA Playing to Learn curriculum
  • Adhere to all Child Care Licensing Regulations and YMCA Child Protection Policies


  • Qualifications:Current and valid BC Early Childhood Educator Assistant License to Practice and are currently enrolled in an ECE program
  • Three satisfactory professional references & experience working with children in a child care/recreational setting
  • Current Emergency Child Care First Aid certificate or willingness to obtain
  • Satisfactory Criminal Record and Clear Vulnerable Sector Search
  • 1-2 years of experience in preferred
