About the BusinessRota Moulding WA is an established Western Australian manufacturer of rotationally moulded plastic tanks and industrial products. Under new ownership, the business is investing in its people, production systems and manufacturing capability at its Midvale facility.The RoleWe are looking for a hands-on Factory Trimmer / Plastic Fabricator to take moulded products through the final stages of production and prepare them for the customer. The work includes measuring and marking out, trimming, drilling, routing, fitting components, assembly, custom modifications and final quality checks.The role would suit someone from plastics, fibreglass, composites, caravan or boat building. It is also a strong fit for a carpenter, joiner, cabinet maker or shopfitter with accurate measurement, tool use, fitting and finishing skills. This is not a traditional carpentry role; the value is in the transferable craftsmanship and practical problem-solving ability.Key ResponsibilitiesTrimming, fabrication and assembly• Measure and mark out products using drawings, templates and work instructions• Trim, cut, drill, route and finish polyethylene products accurately• Use hand tools, drills, routers, grinders, jigs and workshop equipment safely• Fit lids, outlets, brackets, hardware and other components• Assemble and customise products to customer specifications• Complete minor repairs, rework or fabrication tasks where trained• Inspect finished products and ensure they meet quality requirementsProduction support• Assist with mould preparation and other production tasks when required• Move, pack and prepare materials and completed products safely• Keep tools, equipment and work areas clean and organisedAbout You• Strong practical skills and confidence using hand and power tools• Accurate measuring, marking out, drilling, fitting and finishing skills• An eye for detail and pride in producing neat, consistent work• Ability to follow drawings, templates, instructions and quality standards• Practical problem-solving ability and mechanical aptitude• Reliable, punctual and comfortable working in a small production team• Willing to learn our products, materials and manufacturing processesPhysical requirementsThe role involves regular manual handling, standing for extended periods and working safely around machinery, tools and large products.Experience That Would Be AdvantageousWe are particularly interested in applicants from one or more of these backgrounds:• Plastics manufacturing, rotational moulding or plastic fabrication• Carpentry, joinery, cabinet making or shopfitting• Caravan, trailer, vehicle or boat building and fit-out• Fibreglass, composites, fabrication or industrial assembly• Product trimming, finishing, drilling, fitting or quality inspectionA trade qualification and forklift licence would be beneficial but are not essential.
