Job Description:
Begin date: 2/2/2026 Full Time: Yes Number of Workers Requested: 8 Job Duties: Duties to include but not limited to: preparing soil and growth media, cultivating and otherwise participating in horticulture activities. Hauls and spreads fertilizer. Plant, spray, weed and water plants. Occasionally assist with delivery of product to customer. Maintenance on farm equipment required in operation. Assist in set-up of product for sale of crop. Participate in the inspection, grading, sorting, storage, and post-harvest treatment of crops. Harvest plants, and transplant and label them. Repair and maintain farm vehicles, implements, and mechanical equipment. Harvest fruits, herbs and vegetables by hand. Set up and operate irrigation equipment. Identify plants, pests, and weeds to determine the selection and application of pesticides and fertilizers. Load agricultural products into trucks and occasionally drive trucks to market or storage facilities. Occasionally, sell and deliver plants to customers. Regulate greenhouse conditions, and indoor and outdoor irrigation systems. Feel plants' leaves and note their coloring to detect the presence of insects or disease. Maintain and repair irrigation and climate control systems. Maintain inventory, ordering materials as required. Occasionally build, repair and mantain farm buildings, fences, and other structures; tasks include maintenance (wash), repair, and install plastics. Plant, spray, weed, fertilize, water, and prune plants, using gardening tools. This farm operation mainly cultivates and harvests these products from August to May. Most of the workdays are spent outdoors on one's feet, with constant movement as they move from one field to another. Workers must be able to stand, walk uphill and downhill, sit, squat, kneel, crouch, bend (from the waist), push, pull, reach, lift, and carry items weighing in the range of 5 to 75 pounds. Driving and operating passenger vehicles and farm equipment may be required. The worker may be requested but not required to work up to 12 hours per day and/or Federal Holidays, as well as Saturdays, depending upon the conditions in the fields, weather, and maturity of the crop. Workers should expect occasional periods of little or no work because of weather, crop or other conditions beyond the employer’s control. The manager or supervisor will notify workers at the end of the workday if there is any change in the start and time anticipated hours of work for the following day. Regular attendance by all workers during scheduled hours of the workday and /or work period is expected. Unsatisfactory attendance: including reporting late, excessive requests to leave before the end of the workday, not abiding by housing, or transport regulations, etc., may be cause for disciplinary action. Doing work outside the scope of the H2A Visa will result in immediate contract termination. Workers must call their manager or supervisor at least one day before the start of the workday if they do not expect to be in on time.
