Motorcycle Mechanic

Job Summary
The Motorcycle Service Engineer is responsible for providing high-quality mechanical and electrical repairs, maintenance, and diagnostics for a variety of motorcycles and scooters. You will ensure that every vehicle leaving *Ska Motors* meets the highest safety and performance standards while delivering exceptional service to our London-based clientele. Responsibilities

• Maintenance & Repair: Carry out routine servicing, engine rebuilds, brake repairs, tyre fitting, and chain/sprocket replacements.
• Diagnostics: Use diagnostic equipment and manual troubleshooting to identify complex mechanical and electrical faults.
• Quality Control: Perform road tests and final safety inspections to ensure all work is completed to manufacturer specifications.
• Customer Service: Advise customers on necessary repairs, provide cost estimates, and explain technical issues in a clear, professional manner.
• Workshop Standards: Maintain a clean, safe, and efficient workspace. Ensure all tools and equipment are handled with care and stored correctly.
• Documentation: Accurately record all work carried out, parts used, and time spent on each job card.

Skills

• Experience: Minimum 2–3 years of professional experience as a motorcycle technician or mechanic.
• Technical Skills: Proficient in using modern diagnostic tools and a wide range of hand/power tools.
• Knowledge: Strong understanding of internal combustion engines; knowledge of electric bike systems is a plus.
• Qualifications: Level 3 NVQ in Motorcycle Maintenance and Repair (or equivalent experience). An MOT Tester license is highly desirable.
• Licensing: Must hold a full, valid UK Motorcycle License (Category A).
• Attributes:* Strong attention to detail, reliability, and the ability to work effectively under pressure during busy periods.
