JOB DESCRIPITION: - Utilize SAP's official sizing questionnaire to determine appropriate hardware specifications (CPU, RAM, disk)
- Collaborate with SAP consultants for complex or large-scale optimization models
- Ensure hardware meets requirements for Windows-based SCM Optimizer Server deployments
SAP Basis Server Optimization: - Perform regular database maintenance including defragmentation and SQL query optimization
- Configure SAP Message Server for efficient request distribution and load balancing
- Implement caching strategies to improve data access and reduce database load
- Optimize network performance including DNS response times and traffic management
- Monitor and tune system parameters (memory, processes, network) for sustained performance
Infrastructure Management: - Consolidate physical hardware or implement virtualization to improve resource utilization
- Ensure high availability and disaster recovery configurations are in place
Performance Monitoring & Reporting: - Continuously monitor SCM server performance metrics
- Provide recommendations and implement tuning adjustments based on system behavior
Requirements - 5+ years of experience in SAP Basis administration, with a focus on SCM systems
- Strong understanding of SAP SCM Optimizer Server architecture and sizing methodologies
- Experience with database optimization and server virtualization
- Familiarity with SAP Message Server configuration and load balancing techniques
- Excellent troubleshooting and performance tuning skills
- Strong communication and collaboration abilities
