We are seeking a highly skilled and passionate Chef with extensive experience in Indian cuisine to join our dynamic team. This role focuses on preparing and cooking authentic Indian dishes from our extensive à la carte menu, ensuring the highest standards of quality, presentation, and taste. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of traditional Indian cooking techniques, spice blends, and ingredient sourcing, as well as the ability to work efficiently and maintain a clean and organized work environment.
Responsibilities:- Prepare and cook a variety of Indian dishes from our à la carte menu, including appetizers, entrees, sides, and desserts, adhering to standardized recipes and portion sizes.
- Maintain consistently high standards of food quality, taste, and presentation.
- Ensure all dishes are prepared and served in a timely manner, especially during peak service periods.
- Manage and rotate food stocks, ensuring proper storage and minimizing waste.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and sanitary work station, adhering to all food safety regulations and hygiene standards.
- Operate and maintain kitchen equipment safely and efficiently.
- Collaborate with the kitchen team to ensure smooth and efficient service.
- Assist in menu development and recipe testing, contributing creative ideas and culinary expertise.
- Train and mentor junior kitchen staff, as needed.
- Monitor food costs and contribute to cost control efforts.
- Adhere to all company policies and procedures.
Qualifications:- Proven experience as a Chef specializing in Indian cuisine, preferably in an à la carte restaurant setting.
- Extensive knowledge of traditional Indian cooking techniques, spices, and ingredients.
- Strong culinary skills and the ability to execute recipes accurately and consistently.
- Excellent understanding of food safety and hygiene regulations.
- Ability to work efficiently under pressure and maintain a positive attitude in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Formal culinary training or certification is preferred but not required with sufficient experience.
