We are seeking a highly skilled Engineer with hands-on experience in sealing and adhesive technologies to support the development and launch of advanced battery Enclosures systems. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in fast‑paced Engineering environments, understands the complexities of prototype and production ramp‑up, and confident is Support Prototype build activities and production launch within Midlands‑based facilities.
The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring robust sealing strategies, high‑quality adhesive applications, and flawless execution during prototype and production launches.
Position: Sealing & Adhesives Engineer for HV Battery Enclosure (Project Engineer)

Location: Warwickshire, UK
Key Responsibilities:- Lead the development, validation, and implementation of sealing and adhesive solutions for battery frames, enclosures, and related structural components.
- Support build activities directly on the shop floor across prototype and production plants in the Midlands, ensuring correct application processes and resolving issues in real time.
- Collaborate with cross‑functional teams including design, manufacturing, quality, and supplier engineering to ensure sealing and adhesive requirements are fully integrated into product and process designs.
- Conduct root‑cause analysis and implement corrective actions for sealing or bonding issues identified during builds or testing.
- Develop and maintain process documentation, work instructions, and quality standards related to sealing and adhesive operations.
- Support launch readiness activities, including PFMEA reviews, process capability assessments, tooling validation, and operator training.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance sealing robustness, reduce variation, and improve manufacturability.
- Work closely with prototype build teams to capture lessons learned and ensure smooth transition into production environments.
- Liaise with suppliers to evaluate new materials, adhesives, sealants, and application technologies.
- Support Design development workstream within the scope of engineering development projects.
- Conduct design analysis, simulation & development with utmost quality within agile framework.
- Dynamic & static attribute targets to be integrated into the product design assessment.
- Support prototype design freeze activities for customer application. Support customer production / prototype sites & liaise with their engineering team.
- Navigate the critical path of sealing system commodity delivery in alignment with the Complex Commodity Delivery System (CCDS) process.
- Apply all phases of Advanced Product Quality Planning (APQP) and Engineering Build Event Readiness (EBER) for Sealing & adhesive systems.
Skills, Knowledge and Experience Required: - Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Materials Science, or a related field.
- Experience in HV battery Enclosures systems
- Experience and knowledge of automated adhesive application systems and equipment.
- Familiarity with industry standards for sealing, bonding, and structural integrity
- Minimum 3 years Direct engineering experience with sealing and adhesive systems, ideally within battery frames/enclosures. Experience in related areas such as automotive body structures, closures, or structural bonding will also be considered.
- Proven ability to support hands‑on build activities in manufacturing plants, preferably within the Midlands region.
- Strong background working in launch environments, including both prototype and production facilities.
- Solid understanding of manufacturing processes such as bonding, sealing, curing, surface preparation, and material compatibility.
- Experience with DFMEA/PFMEA, control plans, and process validation.
- Ability to interpret engineering drawings, CAD data, and technical specifications.
- Strong problem‑solving skills with a practical, shop‑floor‑focused mindset.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively with multidisciplinary teams.
- Willingness to travel between Midlands‑based facilities as required.
